TRANSPORTATION COALITION

For

EASTERN CONNECTICUT

Who is TCEC?

TCEC, the Transportation Coalition for Eastern Connecticut, is a network of people just like you – individuals concerned about the transportation needs of older adults and persons who are disabled in eastern Connecticut.  Our members include transportation providers, consumers and policy-makers.

So what do you do?

TCEC has one purpose:  to work together to improve transportation services in eastern Connecticut.  We have already made significant strides:

→ created a town-by-town directory of transportation services

→ convened a free community conference to mobilize consumers, providers and policy-makers

→ showcased local examples of best practices

→ conducted data gathering

→ launched an unmet needs initiative

→ shared our findings with stakeholders

And we continue to advocate and forge ahead on transportation.  TCEC is committed to making sure that the rural charm of eastern Connecticut is enhanced by reliable, convenient and affordable transportation services throughout the entire region.

Why should I get involved?

First, because we welcome your participation!  TCEC concentrates on the 58 eastern towns between the Connecticut shoreline and the Massachusetts/Rhode Island border.  Any person interested in transportation issues for this area is warmly invited to join TCEC.

Second, there is strength in numbers.  As a broad coalition of individuals and organizations working together, TCEC has the opportunity to win together that which might not be won alone.

Third, when you join TCEC, you are helping your friends, your family, your neighbors, your community – and yourself.  With your support, we can reach our goals.  Can we count on you?

I am interested.  How can I get in touch?

We’d love to have you aboard!  Simply contact Rose Fowler, at the McSweeney Regional Senior Center at (860) 423-4524 or Lisa Reynolds (860) 887-3561 or toll-free at 1-800-690-6998.  On behalf of our community, THANK YOU for taking the time to make a difference.
